PEACHTREE CITY, GA, December 5– The second annual Beauty and the Bags event was an exciting night of table decor, bingo, food, drinks and sisterhood. All proceeds benefit local youth development and leadership initiatives.

The hugely popular table decorating contest netted fancy bags for three winners. The “Beauty, Bags and Bling at Tiffany’s,” theme took first place hosted by Gina Martin. Everyone at her table won a high-end designer wristlet. Theme, “Mah Jongg,” took second place hosted by Mary DeWerff. Those ladies received a cosmetic and manicure grooming kit. Lastly, theme “Madeleine Patisserie,” took third place, also hosted by Mary DeWerff. These ladies received a travel size cosmetic bag.

All the ladies at the event played bingo for a chance to win one of the ten designer handbags. The 10 winners were: Mari Carmen-Dobson, Valerie Knight, Deborah Lum, Ginger Mathis, Sharon Mohamed, Joyce Bond, Heather Fenton, Felicia VanHeertum, Angela Kemp, and Susan Negaty.
These ladies also had a chance to win during a designer handbag raffle. The winners of the handbag raffles were Michelle Walker and Debbie Shepard. Charlotte Kelly won two handbags and donated one of the bags to raise money for the organization. The winner for the $500 cash raffle was Chelsea Miles. Proceeds from the event will help sponsor children in AVPRIDE’s After School Enrichment Program and to the Fayette Youth Leadership Program.

The Association of Village PRIDE, Inc is a nonprofit youth leadership organization providing character, leadership, mentoring, and prevention programs in Fayette and Coweta Counties. The mission of AVPRIDE is to empower youth to become conscientious and productive citizens of society who will make significant contributions to their community.
