This scholarship has been established in the memory of former Fayette County High School student, Taylor Noelle Conigland. The Taylor Noelle Conigland Memorial Scholarship is available to students who are attending a Fayette County high school that have demonstrated a sincere desire to help make the world a better place. The scholarship provides money to assist students with costs associated with pursing higher education at an accredited institution in the United States.
To receive scholarship consideration, the student(s) must meet the following criteria:
- Graduate from Fayette County High School with a 2.3 grade point average or better;
- Provide documentation of enrollment in an accredited institution of higher learning;
- Demonstrate an interest in addressing issues in one of the following areas:
- Health Care
- World Hunger
- Child Obesity
- Law and Justice
- Public Policy
- The Environment
- World Peace
- Economic Development
- Must be a U.S. citizen;
- No felony offenses;
- Special needs students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Award Amount and Usage
The successful applicant will receive a $500 scholarship amount that must be used to further his or her post-secondary education. Previous award recipients are eligible for future consideration. The award, which will be paid directly to the institution, can be applied to any legitimate school-related expense, such as tuition, room and board, textbooks, and the like. However, scholarship funds cannot be used as a stipend to cover personal expenses.
The award will be rescinded if the recipient withdraws from school or fails to maintain acceptable academic standards, a 2.3 GPA or above.
