AVPRIDE is proud to offer the Sarai-Anih Lumpkin Memorial Scholarship, made possible through a generous family donation. This annual award honors the life and legacy of Sarai-Anih Lumpkin—a radiant soul known for her laughter, creativity, and compassion.

About Sarai-Anih Lumpkin

As an only child, Sarai filled every room with energy and love. She had a deep affection for animals, the arts, and her community. Whether through dance, humor, or friendship, Sarai uplifted those around her. A proud member of the Taylor-Cleaver Legacy Club of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, she embodied joy, leadership, and boundless potential.

Bold Futures Start Here: Sarai-Anai Lumpkin Memorial Scholarship Overview

This scholarship seeks to uplift students who reflect Sarai’s vibrant spirit—those who bring light to others through service, creativity, and purpose.

Eligibility:

  • Graduating high school seniors

  • Residents of Coweta, Fayette, or Macon County, Georgia

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Demonstrated community service

  • Passion or talent in at least one of the following areas:

    • Dance

    • Videography

    • Music

    • Animation

    • Veterinary medicine, performance arts, or video game development

How to Apply for the Sarai-Anih Lumpkin Memorial Scholarship

  • Submit two letters of recommendation by April 30, 2025 to:

    (Letters can be from a community member or a staff member at your school.

Show Us Your Spark

Applicants are encouraged to submit creative materials that showcase their talent and individuality. Examples include:

  • Dance or performance videos

  • Music or audio recordings

  • Artwork or animation reels

  • Written essays or personal statements

We’re looking for students who live with the same zest for life that Sarai shared—those who lead with heart, creativity, and service.

Important Dates:

Application Deadline: April 30, 2025
Winner Announcement & Award Ceremony: May 13, 2025
Attendance Required: The scholarship winner must be present at AVPRIDE’s End of Year Ceremony on May 13th to receive the award.
